![]() Which one do I want to be slow? Precision casting, quick combat casting, or self casting. Currently, I have to choose between the three things I am constantly using. Dota also decided to not let us choose a self-cast button and set it to the same thing as their only modifier (unless they gave us the option to change it without rebinding alt, that would also be an answer to this query. Unfortunately, that is pretty much all it does, and oftentimes nearby units interrupt your attack and draw your aggro. Unfortunately, since Dota 2 has a RTS style interface, shift and ctrl are both unusable for this purpose, leaving me with only one modifier for my hotkeys (alt). The Problem: Attack move, which is pressing A and then left-clicking the ground, is an alternative to right-clicking that also lets you chase units through Fog of War. And it was wonderful! I want to do something similar in Dota. heal was on 3, I could self cast with alt-3 and quickcast with shift-3). I had every item I carried and every spell I had bound to a button or a combination of buttons with all three of these casting types enabled (e.g. I could do this because I could bind spells to shift 1, ctrl 1, alt 1, and plain 1. I managed to implement quick cast and self cast without removing normal target casting all on one bar. I would remove normal cast, but I find it easier to select the spell and click if there is a crowd and I have to click on a specific person.Ī long time ago, I played WoW. I like quickcast more than I dislike double tap, so if I have to choose, I will pick quickcast, but I would rather be able to have more than one binding. 3 The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic. I'm talking about keybinding quick cast to space-Q without rebinding alt so that I can use self cast with alt-Q so that I don't have to press a different button to quickcast my Q (like binding it to 1). go to setting find automatic in options top right where quickcasts are binded add something convinient like alt+orb button to toggle. Thank you for responding, but I don't want to keybind any specific thing to space any more than you want to keybind a spell to alt. Is there a way to do this? I see solutions that involve rebinding alt, but that doesn't apply to my problem. on Oracle, I could Q to cast normally, alt-Q to self cast, and space-Q to quickcast If I could have this, then I could have all my Q hot keys on Q, but with modifiers. I would like to keep my alt binding and find a way to use space (or almost any button) as a second modifier on a hotkey. However, then I lose standard cast (which I use to determine things like sight on an obs or aoe area and cast range), or quickcast (which would slow me down in combat). ![]() The only option I have as far as I can tell is to unbind quick cast from alt-Q and let alt-Q be self cast. However the only way to not have to do double tap is either move the mouse to my character (which takes extra time and I could miss) or my portrait (which I find unintuitive and I would rather not have to think about in the half second before AM eviscerates me). It makes the spell or item take more time to come out and if I rightclick between the clicks, then it fails. However, I don't like double tap to self cast. I use Q for standard cast and alt-Q for quickcast. Dota gives you the option to assign something to Q and alt-Q.
